JIMMY EVANS |
![]()
The moral foundations of American society are in crisis.
The high divorce rate, soaring out-of-wedlock birth rates, decreasing numbers of two-parent households, increasing cases of spousal and child abuse, and growing indifference to marriage tell the story. Among other things, the breakdown of the family unit has resulted in an increase in poverty, sexually transmitted diseases, drug use and gangs.
"MarriageToday" is called to help reverse these trends. It's our mission to establish, strengthen, save, and restore family and marriage relationships through a Biblical message of healing, restoration, hope and encouragement.
We are committed to providing families with the teaching and tools they need to succeed through our broadcast, literature, meetings, the Internet, etc. We are also reaching out in areas of strategic need, such as inner cities and foreign countries. And dedicated people are joining with us in our mission through prayer and giving.
We are changing the future of our nation - one home at a time.

MART GREEN |
![]()
Mart Green wouldn’t be your first choice to be the driving force behind a movie, much less two of them. After all, until just a few years ago, the 42-year-old retailing magnate had never even been in a theater!
Mart Green
Green grew up in a conservative Christian home where movies were shunned, though his parents could've bought the local theater—or a whole chain of them, for that matter. His father, David Green, founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, is listed among Forbes' 400 Richest Americans with a net worth of some $1.2 billion.
A product of that retail world, Mart Green is now founder and CEO of Mardel Christian and Education Supply stores—so he's also got a few bucks to spend. Several years ago, he decided to spend some of it promoting the Bible in a nationwide marketing campaign similar to the "Got Milk?" blitz. He'd even chosen the slogan: "This Book Is Alive."
But that idea got sidetracked after Green heard Steve Saint, son of one of the 1956 missionary martyrs in Ecuador, speak at a missions conference with Mincaye, one of the Waodani Indians who'd killed the martyrs—including Saint's father.
Soon, Green's Bible blitz idea took on a different shape—in the form of a feature film about those 1956 events: "Instead of doing a 30-second commercial," says Green, "we ended up doing a two-hour movie about the power of God's Word." He formed a production company, Every Tribe Entertainment, and hired some pros to make the movies—including a big wheel who left Sony Pictures to helm the project.

Prior to founding FELLOWSHIP OF THE SWORD, Richard served for twenty years as worship pastor at a local church in Fort Worth, Texas. He has traveled the world, leading believers to the Throne and speaking on the glory of God. By his own admission, Richard never fully “sold out” to anything in his entire life until one day he heard THE voice: “Come away with me.” He answered, “Yes, Lord.”
Richard enjoys golf (he’s not very good), anything outside (though he usually gets hurt), and laughing hard (he’s really pretty good at this).
Richard adds – “I’ve seen Father do amazing things through lives thrown into Him with reckless abandon. If we are to see Father work like the ancients saw Him work, we must believe like they believed. I must die!”

OSCAR ROAN |
![]()
An inner city kid raised in a rough area of South Dallas, Oscar Roan, like so many others, dreamed of success in athletics as the road to fulfillment in life.
Oscar worked hard at making his dreams a reality. At South Oak Cliff High School he was an outstanding performer in football, baseball, track, and basketball. His senior year he received all-district honors in all four sports.
College years brought Oscar more recognition for his athletic ability. By the time he was a junior at Southern Methodist University, he could see his dreams coming true. He was second team All Southwest Conference in football and the league’s newcomer of the year in basketball. Everything seemed to be going right, but success and recognition weren’t enough.
Married now, Oscar was having problems with his wife. He had developed a serious drinking problem and was asking questions about meaning and purpose in life that he couldn’t find answers for.
The answers came when he met an evangelist who led him to Christ, who shared the best news Oscar had ever heard – God loved him and had a plan for his life. A plan that freed him from drinking, set in motion the restoration of his marriage, and provided a definite sense of direction and real meaning in life.
Oscar was drafted in the third round by the Cleveland Browns in l975 after finishing his collegiate career at SMU where he made the l974 Time Magazine All American Football Team at tight end. In his rookie year with the Browns he caught 41 passes for 463 yards and three touchdowns and was named 4th runner up for rookie of the year.
During his pro football career Oscar worked in the off season with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). He retired from the pros in l979 and went into full-time Christian service, working as Area Director with the Dallas Chapter of the FCA.
Since 1980, Oscar, his wife Linda, and their sons Mario and Quincy, have traveled throughout the United States co-laboring with such ministries as: The Fred Jordan Mission, Mike Barber Prison Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and The Salvation Army.

JAMES ROBISON |
James Robison
Since 1962, James Robison has delivered the gospel to the masses—first, through crusade evangelism; today, via television.
At the young age of 18, God called James into the ministry. He began speaking in churches, and doors quickly opened for him to hold crusades in stadiums and indoor arenas nationwide. More than 20 million people attended his meetings, with more than 2 million decisions for Christ. The ministry that James founded—LIFE Outreach International—now focuses on television and mission outreach, and more people are coming to Christ in a single year than in his first 20 years of ministry.
A Dysfunctional Childhood
James Robison's background is hardly typical of a nationally known inspirational leader. On October 9, 1943, James was born in the charity ward of St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas—the result of a forced sexual experience. His mother, Myra Wattinger, placed an ad in the Houston newspaper for a Christian couple to take care of him.
Rev. and Mrs. H.D. Hale of Pasadena, Texas, responded to the ad. For the next several years, James lived with the Hales and saw his mother on occasion. Myra came to get him when he was 5 years old, and for the next 10 years, they lived in extreme poverty. James' biological father entered their lives when he was a teenager. An alcoholic, he nearly killed James' mother and, out of self-defense, James threatened to shoot him.
James was permitted to visit the Hales when he was 14. During that visit, he accepted Christ as his Savior. Miraculously, he was able to live with the Hales the last two years of high school. He attended Pasadena High School, where he met Betty Freeman. After graduating, they married in 1963. They have three children and 11 grandchildren.

He earned his first of four All-NFL honors in 1971 and was voted that same year to the first of six straight Pro Bowls. Wright was named first- or second-team All-Pro each season from 1971 through 1976, earned three All-NFC honors, and the Cowboys led the league for total offense five times (ranked 6th all-time at retirement in 1979). His blocking (and leadership as the team's co-captain for 7 years) helped the Cowboys win 10 division titles and six conference crowns. In addition, Wright was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1970s and was voted the NFLPA NFC Offensive Lineman of the Year in 1972.
Wright's post-football involvement with at-risk, inner city youth resulted in his appointment to the Juvenile Supreme Court in Arizona. He also served as president of the NFL Alumni Chapter, “Caring for Kids” program in the mid-nineties. His philanthropic endeavors, including the non-profit "Kids 4 Tomorrow" organization he co-founded with some other NFL players, were featured in Volume 9 of the Philanthopy World Magazine, along with fellow former-Cowboy teammate, Cliff Harris. The Athletes International Ministries awarded him the Hall of Faith Award in 1997.
Wright was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1988. He was a member of the NFL All-Time Super Bowl Team in 1990 and received the NFL Legends Award that same year. He was inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2004, Rayfield Wright was inducted in the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor. In 2006, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
